PhD Physics Position on Biogenic Selenium Volatilization

Marine environments PhD Physics are considered that an important natural source of Se in the atmosphere. Even in terrestrial environments, such as Moore, selenium compounds can be converted into highly volatile methylated Se, which are emitted into the atmosphere. However, the process leading to the formation of marine and terrestrial selenium compounds in the atmosphere is still largely unknown and must understand.

PhD Physics An important activity of the first phase of the project is to develop analytical methods for trapping the quantitative studies and speciation of volatile Se and S. analytical techniques used in these studies include HPLC-HG-AFS (HPLC)-ICP-MS. Another task will be to these methods of analysis in studies of methylation with laboratory cultures of marine algae (in close cooperation with the Department of Environmental Toxicology) and application of a selenium-enriched natural bog in Switzerland.
